When it's pouring rain outside, there is no better time to repair laptop motherboards... actually there is never really a good time to since so many problem's could occur with your notebook computer. It was pretty funny because the first 2 people who brought me in their laptop had the same exact hp nc6000 machine, so I ended up doing the exact same job twice technically and let me tell you how much of a time saver that was. HP laptop motherboard 344401-001 was used in both nc6000 notebooks and both worked like a charm after swapping out the main logic boards.
HP shows the following specifications for spares part number 344401-001 - "Motherboard (system board) - Includes ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 (M10P/M10C) graphics controller with 32MB DDR memory, ADI1981B AC'97 Codec audio controller, and integrated Broadcom BCM5705M 10/100/1000 (Gigabit) NIC".
The following driver details off the laptop motherboard itself were:
PCB-PC8803-MB-46A Ver: 1.5 / PP2090 / 6050A0032501-A06
Make sure your nc6000 laptop use's DDR333 speed memory and has a Intel Pentium-M Centrino CPU just to be sure that your getting the right PC board with the right motherboard drivers. Good to report that along with the ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 which is integrated into the laptop circuit board... it comes standard with a wireless network card Broadcom BCM5705M which is also extremely useful for these notebook models.
Don't forget that hp motherboard upgrade 344401-001 is only compatible with Intel Pentium Centrino processors. This hp spares part # was made for HP Compaq nc6000 Centrino Notebook PC's, HP nc6000 32MB Base Notebook Series and the Compaq Branded nc6000 series with model 20956 notebooks.
