460900-001 HP Pavilion dv6000 dv6500 dv6600 dv6700 Intel Laptop Motherboard

Besides the HP dv6000 series being the most popular model of Pavilion laptops, it also is the most confusing model when trying to replace it's laptop motherboard. Most recently I just finished putting back together a dv6500 after replacing the notebook systemboard. We used part number 460900-001 since that was the PC main board currently in the computer.

460900-001 has the following specifications - "System board (motherboard) for Pavilion dv6000 series - Full-featured (UMA) with integrated Realtek (RT8201CL) NIC".

I have this laptop motherboard in hand and can see from the part that it use's a Intel 965GM chipset with mPGA478MN socket CPU's and uses a on-board nVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS video card. Other features include one HDMI port, three USB connections, one VGA output and a 5-in-1 SD media card reader.

You will need hp part no. 460900-001 if you own a HP Pavilion dv6000, dv6500, dv6600 or dv6700 series model notebooks ONLY (no exceptions) that require a Intel 965GM chipset and mPGA478MN socket processor.

Hopefully this was able to help clarify any questions you may of had on your hp pavilion dv6000 series laptop in regards to it's PC logic board. If you have any questions regarding this computer part or laptop motherboards in general, please leave a comment and I will reply.

UPDATED INFORMATION 6/12/2011 - I have gotten a few questions on a particular HP dv6000 model which is the "HP PAVILION DV6646US NOTEBOOK PC" and that specific laptop notebook requires motherboard part number 449903-001 which HP show's as the "System board (motherboard) for Pavilion dv6000 series - Full-featured (UMA) with integrated Realtek (RT8201CL) NIC".

I hope this prevents any further confusion and as always, just contact me and I will help you find what you need. Enjoy the great day everyone.

    Mike in CA,

You actually have one of the very rare models which does use a different motherboard and falls under the dv6000 series and not dv5000. I thank you for pointing this out to me as it can be confusing. I will update my information to make sure no one else get’s confused or mislead in the future.

For you I got this info from HP and for your GS687UA laptop which is the “HP PAVILION DV6646US NOTEBOOK PC” and you need part number 449903-001 – the specs for that hp part number is “System board (motherboard) for Pavilion dv6000 series – Full-featured (UMA) with integrated Realtek (RT8201CL) NIC”.

If you search for 449903-001 you should find exactly what your looking for.

  4. I have a dv6700 that I’ve been told needs a new motherboard. The number on the current motherboard is 31AT1MB00E0. Is this the ONLY possible replacement number for this notebook?

    Hello James,

That number looks more like a serial number to be and not a part number. Your going to be looking for a 6 digit number followed by a -001 such as 460900-001 in that format. For your series you should be able to get the part number by removing the memory sticks and the motherboard part number sticker will be under there. Let me know if you still need help and we could go by your exact laptop model # to find out what you need. Good luck.
